SonQuest Rainforest - VBS
This summer, bring your kids to SonQuest Rainforest VBS (Vacation Bible School). We'll transport kids into a vivid rainforest environment of jungle sounds, sights and smells, where they'll dig into the Bible and meet Jesus in every day's story.
- Date: July 19th to 23rd
- Time: 9 am to 12 noon
- Ages: for kids 5 to 12 years old
Through Bible stories your child will explore and discover:
- Which soil are you?
- Baa, Baa, Lost Sheep
- An unlikely neighbour
- The midnight knocker
- Use it or lose it
Registration forms are now available in the Upper Hall so pick one up. You can also register by calling the Church Office @ 905-728-8251 or Jennifer, our VBS Coordinator @905-576-1009. Our Vacation Bible Camp is free of charge, but at the week's end we will be accepting donations for next year's camp.

Saturday, September 11th @10:30—11:30am
is an hour of kid-friendly worship for the whole family. At this service, kids, ages 2 to 6 and now, also kids 7 and up , learn and worship with their parents, through songs, stories, games and crafts geared to their age level.
Sunday, September 12th
We’re back to our three regular Sunday Worship services:
- 8am, quiet classic Holy Communion
- 9:15 am, beautiful traditional Eucharist with choir
- 11:15 am, lively contemporary worship with worship band
Saturday, September 18th, Car Rally @4:30
starting at the Church & wrapping up by 8pm Mark your calendars and join in the fun! This car rally will include: A scavenger hunt in which you will drive around Oshawa and Whitby in your car and collect answers to questions and pick-up specific items.
After the car rally we’ll come back to the church for a corn roast, hot dogs and dessert. The entrance fee per party is $10 per car or $4 per person. There will be prizes for those with the best results and for those with the worst results.
The proceeds from this event will be used to build up our Social Committee Funds so other social events can take place. Watch for a sign-up sheet, and add your team!
Back to Church Sunday
Bring a friend or neighbour to worship on Sunday, September 26th, Back to Church Sunday! This year this initiative will involve Anglican churches all the way across Canada. The bishops of Toronto will be greeting morning commuters with free coffee on the Friday before this date. Now if our bishops are brave enough to do that, shouldn’t we be brave enough to invite someone we know to come to church with us? Research tells us that lots of people are open to returning to church…but that they are hesitant until someone invites them.

In the Fall...
Introducing Alison , our Youth Ministry Coordinator We are very happy to announce that Alison , with the help of parent volunteers, will be leading our Youth Group this fall. We’ll be making announcements regarding dates and times as we get closer to September, so keep listening. And thank you to all of the teens and parents that came out to talk about what they would like to see happen for our youth this year!
A Children’s Choir is coming this fall...
We are happy to report that 5 children have already signed up to participate in a children’s choir and instrument group. Linda will be looking at the best time and date for everyone interested, and will be in contact with you before September. Other families interested in this new venture can sign up in the Upper Hall or call the church office.
F.L.A.M.E.—Men’s Retreat, October 22nd to 24th, 2010
will be held at the Salvation Army Conference Centre at Jackson’s Point. For more details talk to David.
